Birthdays: 

We love to make your child feel special on their birthday! Here’s how we celebrate birthdays:

Your child will get a birthday crown, and a birthday treat bag.

Students are NOT allowed to bring in cupcakes or outside treats. They can bring in a goodie bag that will be sent home.

 

Classroom Rules

We use these school wide rules to keep our classroom safe, respectful and fun! We practice these rules daily to help us remember. Please go over these rules daily with your child. These rules help us focus, work together and enjoy learning!

1. Be respectful
2. Listen to the speaker
3. Follow directions the first time
4. Worry about yourself and yourself only
5. Always do your best

 

Take Home Folders

Your child will bring home a folder each day. Please check it nightly and take out any papers. If papers need to be returned please fill them out and send them back to school.

 

School Drop off/ Pick Up

Students may be dropped off at the gym doors starting at 7:30 am. The gym doors will close promptly at 7:45 am. If you arrive after 7:45 am please drop your child off at the office.

Students will be dismissed from the gym at 2:10pm. Every Friday students will be dismissed at 2:10 pm. 

It is very important that your child comes to school on time and is picked up on time everyday. 

 

Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast is available everyday from 7:45-8:00

Lunch is at 11:30 am. Students may have the school hot lunch or pack their own lunch from home. They are not allowed to have both lunches.

 

Label

It is very important that your child’s belongings are labeled with their first and last name inside of their belongings.  Also, please pack a change of clothes for your child in case of an accident. It must be the school uniform. 

 

 

Monday, September 14th the students will come to school at regular time (7:30-2:30). The gym doors will open at 7:30 and close promptly at 7:45. Please make sure your child comes to school on time. Pre-K and K will be dismissed at 2:10 everyday. Please make sure your child is picked up on time. 

 

 

Welcome to Kindergarten! I am so excited to welcome you and your child to our classroom for the 2026–2027 school year. We are going to have a wonderful year filled with learning, laughter, friendship, and lots of exciting adventures!

My name is Mrs. Cooney, and I am honored to be your child’s Kindergarten teacher. I have been teaching for 22 years, and I am especially proud to say that 20 of those years have been here at Drexel Neumann Academy, teaching Kindergarten. Kindergarten is truly where my heart is! I love watching children grow from the first day of school to the last and seeing their confidence, independence, and love of learning blossom.

A little about me… I am married and have two teenage sons, who keep me very busy and always give me something to smile about! When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and making special memories together.

I believe that Kindergarten is a very special year. It is a time when children are learning not only their letters, numbers, and beginning reading skills, but also how to become confident, caring, responsible, and independent learners. My goal is to create a classroom where every child feels loved, safe, valued, and excited to come to school each day.

I look forward to getting to know your child and your family. Thank you for trusting me with such an important part of your child’s journey. Together, we will make this a year full of wonderful memories and meaningful learning experiences.
